Charles Warner was born in Okinawa, Japan, and grew up as a military brat, living in London, England, Lisbon, Portugal, and Lima, Peru. He is a graduate of Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, Texas, and the Citadel, Charleston, South Carolina. He holds a B.A. in International Affairs, a Master of Arts (Teaching) in History, and a Master's of Education. He served 5 years in the United States Air Force as a pilot. He joined Federal Express as a pilot in 1980, retiring in 2013.

Mr. Warner became interested in wine after meeting his future wife, Marne Macbeth Anderson, and began his oenological education at that time. He is a member of the Chaine des Rotisseurs, Commanderie de Bordeaux, and the Society of Wine Educators. His credentials include Certificated Wine Educator, Certified Specialist of Spirits, Certified Specialist of Wine, Certified Spanish Wine Educator, Certified Sommelier, and French Wine Scholar with Masters Levels in Alsace, Champagne, Burgundy, and Bordeaux, and Italian Wine Scholar.

Ms. Anderson and Mr. Warner have travelled extensively to the various wine regions of the world, including Tuscany, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Spain, South Africa, Germany, South America and the various wine regions of the United States.

Marne Macbeth Anderson is a native of Clarksdale, Mississippi. She attended The Lausanne School in Memphis, Tennessee, followed by higher education at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, and The University of Liverpool, Liverpool, England. She holds a B.A. in Art History.  She is a graduate of Leith's School of Food & Wine, London, England, and attended the La Varenne Cooking School in Paris, France. Ms. Anderson owned a catering company in London, England, and was a Chef for the prestigious Zanzibar Private Club in London, England. She hosted the first TV cooking show in the U.K., done live at the time, many, many moons ago - probably before the Naked Chef was conceived (literally and figuratively).

Since 1978 she has been actively involved in the Food & Wine industry in Memphis. She began the first wine department for a Memphis liquor wholesaler and is currently a Vice President for Wine for Southern-Glazers of Tennessee.  She is a member of the Commanderie de Bordeaux, the Confrerie des Chevaliers de Tastevins, the Châine des Rôtisseurs, and the Society of Wine Educators. Her credentials include Certified Sommelier, Certificated Wine Educator, Certified Specialist of Spirits, Certified Spanish Wine Educator, and French Wine Scholar. She is active with the Brooks Museum, having served as past chairman of the Art of Good Taste wine auction. She is a graduate of Leadership Memphis.

Memphis Sommeliers is a wine and spirits-oriented company which specializes in education and customized tastings.  Owned by Marne Anderson and Charles Warner, it has operated in the Memphis area for several years.
